Being a border town, we have a lot in common with our friends to the north. We used to make our own beer, till we tried Labatt and Molson (I got scolded " buy real beer" once in line when I was holding a 12 pack of Coors").  We also grew up on Hockey Night  in Canada, and we are the home of the French connection. Heck, Quebec is not that far off. We say 'Pop' when we want a soft drink, unlike our freinds downstate, and pretty much other americans  that say 'Soda'. We know how to drive in Winter (well most of the time)... and appreciate the seasons. Most of us have been to Toronto, Molson park, Algonquin park, and a lot of us have  relatives in Ontario. Many of us have cabins up north, and some, like me even have a doctor who is Canadian! haha. Many people in the southern states have no idea of the advantages we have up here, and unlike them, we benefit from them. Many famous Canadians live here, Scotty Bowman the most winning coach in hockey history. Marcel Dionne (who was quoted as saying "Buffalo is the best U.S. city" , many former Buffalo Sabres and even Wayne Gretzky grew up just a bit north, watching Eyewitness news as a child. Of course, our favorite donut shop is Tim Hortons', this is probably the only place in the states where Duncan comes in second., sorry Duncan. Harry Neale long time analyst for Hockey Night in Canada lives in Buffalo and will now be broadcasting in Buffalo with our very own Rick Jeanerette. On TV we share the PBS (Public Broadcasting System) channel,  in Buffalo its channel 17, look it up in Ontario. Heck we even got the Honor of being the home to Labatt Blue U.S. Headquarters, (they say no one drinks more labatt in the states then Buffalo). Home to the Canadian Consulate embassy of Buffalo, and The closest large American city to Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa, we definately show the influence!

The QEW, Queen Elizebeth Way, connected Buffalo and Toronto, when both cities were the same size population wise and area wise, way back when. The "Queen E" is a great thruway, setup, well lit and maintained. It is possible to go between the two cities in 90 minutes and still be in laws limits, thats day or nite. Keep in mind most of it is on the Canadian side which means you can take advantage of the more lax speed laws in Ontario, and still have a choice of 4 bridges when you get to Buffalo.

Unlike Toronto, Buffalo is not as aggressive advertizing, so I will give you some info, so you can take full  advantage if you guys decide to come down to Buffalo for some fun, and great deals.

With the exchange rate basically at Par, there was never a better time to have fun down here!
